I only recently discovered the wonderful site Mary Corbet’s Needle ‘n Thread . Last week she posted a picture and challenge; what is this stitch? The stitch in question is the pink flower. I don’t have a name for this stitch (maybe Janet’s Wrap?) ,but here is my solution
I found the only way I could get the same look as the original was to pad the petal with satin stitching….
…then wrap the padding very loosely.
Controlling the loop size is the biggest challenge, but the result is pretty when it is done.
