A Fish Out Of Water

Last summer, Tricia at The Embroiderers Story offered a kit and a challenge. The proceeds of the kit helped save a 17th century beaded basket being restore at a British museum.

The challenge was an opportunity to try our hand at making our own beaded basket.

By the time I wrapped the metal rims with a medley of beads I knew beading wasn’t going to become a new passion. But I wanted to finish the project. I had an embroidered fragment from an earlier project that fit into the bottom of the basket perfectly. It is hard to see but the fish is wired and jumping out of the pond and into the waterfall.
It became the perfect name for this piece, ‘A Fish Out Of Water’!
