All Done!

My stitching is done!

I love a thick border of chain stitches.
Plus it provided the perfect place for the date.

Don't forget to send your photos!!

More SAL progress

I am very close to completing my SAL.

This is how I decided to complete one corner.

And another tulip is filled in.

My personal stitcher,Claudia, is hard at work too.

And from Margo Brooks at Threading Along!

Oh Another SAL!

Isn't this stunning?
Stitched by Majo van der Woude at

You can see step by step how she stitched this on wool.
I am surprised I didn't know about Majo's site since we are both avid students in the 'Cabinet of Curiosities'.

For Your Valetine

Years ago I created a collection of little gift bags for Vogue Patterns.

This little Lady must not have made the cut since I still have her.

If you scroll half way down the "About Me" page you will see a picture of the pattern envelope.

Happy Valentines Day

Other SAL's!

I love surprises in my morning email box. Today it came from

I love the herringbone stitches all around the arches. And they make a beautiful tulip.

I have never done Schwalm work. Look how beautiful this heart is.
And  Christine shared my SAL on her site.

Do you have progress to share?
If you scroll down to the very bottom of the blog page to my photo 'About Me', click on that image and it will take you to my email.
Please attach your image there and tell me what information I can post with it. Of course your privacy is important and I will not be sharing email addresses.

SAL Progress

The lower right hand corner is complete.
I even 'buried' my initials underground.

The blue birds have 3D wings.

And one row of hearts offer a place for the eye to rest with a branch of exotic tulips above.

The red bird is flapping his wing.

Wool Applique in My Colors

This is a color palette I never tire of.

The candy cane stripe is a heavy white chain stitch wrapped in red.

All of the applique and embroidery is done with cotton floss.

The background fabric and the applique fabric is wool.

SAL Progress

I have been stitching. I have been having fun.

I've known for a while that I need to have my eyes examined. When you enlarge your stitches to this size, then you really know it is time!

I am loving the herringbone stitch leaves.

This is the top corner early. It was smashed against the scanner screen. Not the best way to show stitches.

Here is that same corner coming alive.

Another Oldie

A little stage from machine embroidery days. A forerunner of the tunnel books.

There is a little crank at the top to turn the clown around.

Old Work Revisited

I will be posting some SAL progress again soon. Until then, I am going through stacks of old work

And I thought I would share some of it with you.

Created years ago but still pretty.
Well I think so.

A different color palette than I usually use.

It is wool applique stitched with cotton floss.
